Uploading Files
Upload files to a project from the Files tab. Basalt supports drag-and-drop uploads and handles large video files efficiently. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and common image/document formats.
File Organization
Organize files into folders within each project. Create folders for raw footage, exports, graphics, audio, and other asset types. Files can be moved between folders at any time.
Version Control
Version History
Every file in Basalt has a version history. When you upload a new version of a file, the previous versions are preserved. You can view, download, or restore any previous version at any time.
Comparing Versions
Compare different versions of a file side by side. This is especially useful for video reviews — see exactly what changed between edits.
Sharing & Links
Share Links
Generate shareable links for any file or folder. Share links can be password-protected and have an expiration date. External recipients don't need a Basalt account to view shared files.
Client Sharing
Share files directly with clients through the Client Portal. Clients can view, download, and leave feedback on shared files without accessing your full workspace.
